over 90% of the students at my Berlin university dress like THE MOST BORING SET OF MOTHERFUCKERS EVER. E-V-E-R. like some kind of homogenous mass of FUCKING BORING. boring, expressed though their UNIFORM CHOICE OF SHAPELESS TOPS WITH BOOTCUT JEANS AND MISMATCHED EURO-SHITE JUMPERS. they can also be discerned by their REALLY BAD HAIR. into this mix add some REALLY GENERIC GOTHS/PUNKS, BAD-TASTE HIPPIES (LONG SKIRTS, RAINBOW SOCKS, GLASS BEADS, SOME TIE-DYE) and a few of the equally dull EURO-LUXE look (esprit, escada, a bit of designer handbag here and there) and you've got it. THE MOST AESTHETICALLY- FUCKING-BORING SET OF PEOPLE YOU'RE EVER LIKELY TO HAVE THE MISFORTUNE TO SEE. sorry dudes but it's true. as far as other respects go, i'm sure there is a rich variety of hobbies and pursuits and academic prowess, but as i don't know most of the people in my classes i just don't know. not only that but i get STARED AT DAILY for not wearing SAID SHITE, but for mixing it up a bit with y'know, a playsuit, or *shock horror* a pencil skirt and heels. OH THE IRONY of getting stared at in a gender theory class by everyone there whilst getting lectured at about the pressure of society to conform to the 'norm'. HOW REPRESSED ARE THESE MOUSEY WOMEN WITH PLAITS AND A FRINGE AND ILL-FITTING JEANS AND A QUIET VOICE. I MEAN HOW? oh, and did i forget the consistent use of stripey tops as a style point? what? no.
