Why oh why, when the fashion world decides to make a token gesture to morality, does it have to be done in so little style? For example, even if Mario Testino did shoot Lily Cole, Erin O' Connor and others in their smalls and a breast cancer t-shirt, the fact that the t-shirt was a too short, unstylish item that these women would in reality not wear, cannot be escaped. The same goes for the new RED campaign t-shirt in Gap and Armani. Gap, ethical? They've got to be taking the piss. So sweat shop kids can make t-shirts to improve the brand image of Gap. Whatever. These items similarly lack the key factor of actually being stylish. Don't get me wrong, i'm in favour of any work helping those who are in need, but REALLY. Does it have to be with a lame, unethical t-shirt that none of the fashion pack would do anything other than sleep in?
